Until We Leave is a feature-length drama about four thirty-something women who travel to France to visit a close friend with a terminal illness. Their trip gradually turns into a confrontation with their own lives, relationships and visions of the future. The presence of death, which isn’t spoken of directly, transforms everyday crises into questions that can no longer be postponed. The film explores the dynamics of female friendship at a moment when closeness, loyalty and exhaustion collide with the awareness of mortality. It’s an intimate drama with elements of an observational road movie and tragicomedy.
Lucia Čižinská is a screenwriter and actress. She studied alternative and puppet theatre at Prague’s DAMU, where she focused on authorial and collaborative creation. In her work, she explores relationships, the female experience and breaking points in everyday life. The Until We Leave project is her feature-length screenwriting debut.
Tereza Wiński is a producer and co-owner of One Way Ticket Films.
In 2022, the feature film Borders of Love premiered in Karlovy Vary IFF’s main competition, where it won the FIPRESCI International Film Critics Award. She was involved in the film in the role of producer. She currently has several feature films in the development phase, one of which is Until We Leave .
