KVIFF Talents
A program under the patronage of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival to support bold and dynamic approaches in cinematography and other areas of audiovisual production in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
KVIFF Talents consists of two separate programs, Feature Pool and Creative Pool, each focusing on a slightly different type of work and different stages of its preparation.

Who is it for:
Feature Pool
For live-action and hybrid feature films in the concept / early development stage.
Applicants may submit without any age or career limitations.
The programme is open both to creative teams (screenwriter/director and producer) and individual screenwriters.
Creative Pool
For concepts of audiovisual works of any format or genre that require resources or partners to be realised. This may include film, short film, TV series, commercial project, music video, game concept, etc.
Authors may apply without age or career restrictions. The programme is open to creative teams (screenwriter/director and producer) as well as individual screenwriters.
What can be obtained:
Feature Pool
Inclusion under the KVIFF Talents label, guidance in preparing a project presentation and development of a presentation video.
Opportunity to present the project during a special event at the Karlovy Vary IFF to potential partners and investors.
Financial support of CZK 120,000 for concept development.
Access to flexible, tailor-made ongoing consultations with mentors – experienced film professionals selected according to the specific needs of each project.
Possibility of a short creative residency in Karlovy Vary and preparation of a proof-of-concept video.
Opportunity for the final film to be screened within the Karlovy Vary IFF programme and potential distribution through KVIFF.TV and KVIFF Distribution.
Creative Pool
Inclusion under the KVIFF Talents label, guidance in preparing a project presentation and development of a presentation video.
Opportunity to present the project during a special event at the Karlovy Vary IFF to potential partners and investors.
Financial support of CZK 50,000 for concept development.
Opportunity to consult with mentors selected according to the type and specific needs of the project.”
OUTPUTS:
Feature Pool
The programme outputs include three scripts for feature films and three Proof of Concept videos created in collaboration with our partners, all intended to support further development and access to potential funds and investors.
Creative Pool
The programme output will be the presentation of three projects to potential producers, partners, and investors during a special event at the Karlovy Vary IFF.
DATES:
Feature Pool
Applications for the 2025/2026 cycle can be submitted until 15 April 2025, 23:59.
Project selection will take place in May 2025.
Project presentations within the Karlovy Vary IFF will take place between 6–11 July 2025.
The creative residency in Karlovy Vary will take place between October and December 2025.
Preparation of the proof-of-concept video will take place between December 2025 and March 2026.

FAQ
Who is the program intended for?
Currently, the project is limited to the Czech Republic and Slovakia, meaning that citizens of both countries or those who have permanent residence in either country are eligible to apply.
What requirements must the project meet?
All you need to do is fill out the form on the program website and attach all the required attachments, until 15.4. 2025 23:59 and have the will and willingness to develop their project with the help of the Karlovy Vary IFF and invited experts.
In which language can the project be submitted?
Projects can be submitted in Czech, Slovak, or English. Any consultations with mentors or experts will be selected based on the language preference of each winning author.
What is the financial support intended for?
Three selected projects in the Feature Pool program will receive 120,000 CZK, and three projects in the Creative Pool program will receive 50,000 CZK. Our goal is to enable authors to use these funds to focus primarily on their original ideas for a while, so that we can present truly viable and attractive projects together in Karlovy Vary. In return for this support, we expect full commitment to the preparation of presentations and participation in consultations with experts who will be tasked with helping you move your project forward.

Výstupy
Výstupem programu budou 3 scénáře pro celovečerní film a případně realizace jednoho z nich.
Výstupem programu bude prezentace 3 projektů potencionálním producentům, partnerů a investorům v rámci zvláštního eventu v průběhu MFF Karlovy Vary.
